Co-President
Danielle Sovak
Danielle is a proud mom to Owen, 1st grade student at GW, and a stepmom to twin girls, Madison & Sarah, seniors at Ramsey High School. Danielle's husband, Bill, is the Vice President of Sales for a Cyber Security Firm as well an as avid coach for many recreational youth sports in Mahwah. Besides having an innate passion for volunteerism, Danielle has been dedicated to the field of education for 29 years. She is currently working as an elementary schoolteacher in 5th grade. She also holds a NJ certification as school principial and serves as Teacher in Charge in her current school district substituting for principals in their absence.
President
Jessica Forkins
Jessica is a proud mother to Lillian, a 1st grade student at GW, and 20 month old Collin; wife to Jason Forkins, a Service Manager at a local dealership, she is a career Speech-Language Pathologist. Committed to continuing education, Jessica holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, licensure through the State of NJ and a Certificate of Supervision, mentoring newcomers to her field. While Jessica works with all ages, she currently provides therapy services to school-aged students, in addition to serving as the district evaluator for all speech/language assessments in her district.
As co-presidents of the HSO, Jessica and Danielle work together to manage the operations of the HSO. Together they serve as the presiding officers of the HSO executive board and meetings. They distribute all materials to the committee chairs, serving in an advisory capacity. They direct the affairs of the association in cooperation with the other members of the board. They also work closely with the principal and teachers throughout the year.
Treasurer
Jillian O'Shaughnessy
Jillian is a proud mom to Kinsley, 1st grade student at GW, and Ryleigh, a pre-schooler at Holy Cross. Jillian's husband, Chris, is a Police Detective and Veteran. She is an accountant by trade with a Certified Public Accountancy license and Masters in Business Administration and currently leads a Finance organization at Mars, Inc. where her world revolves around puppies and candy!
As the treasurer she manages the budget and financial filings for the HSO. She works closely with the Presidents to set targets for our annual fundraisers and events, tracking our progress throughout the year to ensure we are operating within budget.
Secretary
Elania Ferenczi
Elania is a proud mother of two children, Gabriella (1st grade) & Alexander (pre-k). Her husband, Alex, is a retired police officer who is currently in Real Estate/Property Management. Elania is a Special Education teacher who has her Teacher of the Handicap Certificate and a Master's Degree in Education. She has worked in education for the past 17 years and is currently a Home Instructor for the same district.
This is Elania's first year as the Secretary of the HSO board, where she will work closely with the HSO executive board and George Washington School Principal to create monthly meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, provide accurate documentation and volunteer her time to help the HSO in any way possible to ensure students have a great school year experience.
